KAT-TUN (カトゥーン, sounding similar to "cartoon") is a Japanese boy band formed by Johnny & Associates (JE) in 2001, released on their own label, J-One Records. They debuted in 2006 (March).

The group's name is an acronym formed by the members' surname initials. Currently one of the most popular boy bands in Japan, all 10 singles, 4 studio albums and 7 DVDs released by the group have debuted at number one on the Oricon music and DVD charts.

Oguri Shun (小栗旬, born December 26, 1982 in Tokyo, Japan) is a Japanese actor, who gained a rise in popularity by starring in the TV drama, Hana Yori Dango, and its sequel. His most recent role in TV drama is in Binbō Danshi as Kazumi Koyama, the lead role. He also won an award for his movie Crows ZERO.

NEWS (ニュース), is a six-member Japanese musical group consisting of Tomohisa Yamashita, Ryo Nishikido, Keiichiro Koyama, Takahisa Masuda, Shigeaki Kato, and Yuya Tegoshi. The group's name is an acronym based on the cardinal directions (North, East, West, South) and the members locations.

In 2008, they released their tenth single, Happy Birthday, which made NEWS the second Japanese group after label-mates KinKi Kids to have ten consecutive number-one singles since their debut.

Shinhwa (신화) is a popular South Korean boy band and hip hop group. The group has six members (with 3 vocalists and 3 rappers), and debuted on March 24, 1998. It has enjoyed massive success alongside the likes of Sechs Kies, Baby Vox, Fin. K.L., H.O.T. and S.E.S., but while the other bands have since disbanded, Shinhwa continues to release albums with high sales. Shinhwa is the Korean word for myth or legend.

Notable for being the longest-running boy-band in South Korea, the group has released ten studio albums (nine Korean and one Japanese album), one Greatest hits album, four compilation albums, and four singles (three Korean and one Japanese single).
